Victory in Challenge To Eagle Rule Declared To Be One of 2015’s Most Important Environmental Cases

The leading legal publication Law 360, has declared the victory in our challenge to the regulation lengthening the term of permits to kill or otherwise “take” bald and golden eagles from 5 to 30 years to be one of the four “biggest environmental decisions of 2015.”  We brought the case on behalf of the American Bird Conservancy and a number of eagle advocates throughout the country.  The Court (Judge Lucy Koh of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California) agreed with our claim the rule was issued in violation of the National Environmental Policy Act, and invalidated the rule on that basis.
