Rock Springs Grazing Association v. Ken Salazar, Civ. No. 11-263 (D. Wy.)

Case Summary:

This case concerns a lawsuit brought by the Rock Springs Grazing Association, to force the U.S. Bureau of Land Management to remove wild horses from both the private lands and over a million acres of federal public lands in Wyoming.  We intervened in this action on behalf of several wild horse advocacy groups to ensure the protection of wild horses and to prevent future unnecessary and illegal roundups of horses due to pressure from the livestock industry.  The court granted intervention holding that we had established an interest sufficient to support intervention as of right.

Intervenors: International Society for the Protection of Mustangs and Burros, American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign, and the Cloud Foundation
